Sorry for the lack of updates, I'll try and catch everyone up to speed!

We spent our first night together, to say it was an experience would be an understatement. Aimee finally got to see Emma at around 10:00pm, a full two hours after she was born. Both Aimee and Emma were exhausted and slept till around 2:00am the next morning.
I on the other hand had a trip of my own that night. I might have needed attention as well, or it was the head to toe rash and welts that I had discovered at 3:00am when I decided I should run downstairs and visit the ER. Apparently if I get a bit stressed out this happens! A couple of pills and a whole lot of Benadryl later I was good to go!
(I got a fancy hospital bracelet too!)

During the day, we spent most of time getting to know our new bundle of joy. She on the other hand immediately started getting us trained in taking care of her. They actually let us have some visitors today, and they also had a chance to experience precious Emma. (Sorry if we leave any pictures out, some film is still being developed!)
During that night Emma taught us that she was in charge. Aimee and I were both exhausted and could barely stay standing. The nurses noticed we were about to crash, and took Emma with them to the nurses station for a while, so we could get some sleep.
Friday March 3, 2006
After a couple hours of sleep we were doing much better. The nurses brought back Emma and we tried our best to keep up.
We had more visitors at night and received a ton of cute pink outfits! Thanks to all who stopped by and gave us the wonderful gifts. We would also like to thank all who sent the many great flower arrangements that, as all the nurses put it, made the room smell better than a flower shop.
Saturday March 4, 2006
Aimee and Emma both were given the o.k. to go home, so we packed everything up and shipped out.
Sampson was a little ticked off, so I went and took him for a long walk and a good romp in the mud. Later in the evening we slowly intoduced him to Emma, but at the time he was more interested in seeing Aimee for the first time in a while. (And playing with his rawhide)
During the night he got a bit more acquainted with Emma, a bit more than he bargained for! Emma had a loud night and Sampson was wondering what we got him into. The more Emma cried the more he whinned. I'm sure he was concerned for her, but he was also wondering when he could get some sleep! He is doing a great job adjusting and he will soon regain access inside during the day.
Sunday March 5, 2006
Both Saturday and Sunday we spent the time just getting settled with everything. We had wonderful, and much needed from our Moms and Aunt Joni. I will post some of the remaining and misc. pictures I have and let them speak for themselves. When I get other pictures in I will post them as well.

she is SOOOO CUTE. The first few nights are rough, but you'll be in the swing of it before you know it! :) Over the last five (almost six!) years, I have repeated to myself "It's not always easy, but it's always worth it" more times than I can count! And believe me, crying at 2am is so much easier to deal with than the back talk of a five year old, LOL!! ;) So maybe enjoy it while you can? :P
But really..she's SO beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. You're doin' great Mom and Dad. ;)

Emma is a beautiful baby. Congrats again! She will get into a routine and then you guys won't even look back on the lack of sleep you have right now. It's all worth it!
Please let me know if there is anything I can do. I cannot wait to come see her. Let me know when you guys are ready for more visitors.
